This course explores classical and modern immunological applications in the field of immunology. Students will establish a foundational knowledge of the non-specific and specific immune mechanisms. The class investigates the complex communication between immune system components. Pathologies associated with immunodeficiency, autoimmunity, hypersensitivity, and organ transplants are considered, as well as the biotechnical impact of our understanding of the immune system. A $50 lab fee is charged.
