Credits 3

People matter in conservation! Managers and researchers working in wildlife conservation often deal with issues involving people and their wildlife-related behaviors, attitudes, values, knowledge, and perceptions.  Human dimensions studies are often used to address these questions, and managers and researchers are increasingly involved in the design and implementation of these studies and in incorporating the results of these studies in conservation practice.  This course gives students an introduction to the social science methods approaches that are used in human dimensions studies as well as practical skills in the design, implementation, and analysis of human dimensions studies. Learners will develop a human dimensions project to address a wildlife conservation issue or question of their choice.
