HUM 120: The Challenge of Being Human

This course introduces students to the interdisciplinary aspect of a college education. Students explore how insights and methods from various academic majors inform their understanding of complex issues. The course will explore an enduring human question such as “what is a happy life,” “what is freedom,” and similar topics. Students develop skills in interdisciplinary and integrative research and problem solving, in oral and written communication, and the integration of diverse perspectives.

HUM 210: Introduction to the Digital Humanities

This course is an introduction to the field of digital humanities. This introduction covers the theory behind the quantitative approach to cultural artifacts, leading methods current in the field, application of these methods to real-world data and assessment of the applicability of the digital humanities in pursuits intellectual, academic and professional.
