Branding

Program

Branding is the art and science of designing, developing, and cultivating identity systems and strategic marketing for businesses, causes, events, institutions, products, and services. Brands convey offerings, meaning, and values to differentiate and stand out, helping people choose between competitors. Identity systems include recognizable visual elements such as logos, and brand touchpoints span applications and technologies, running the gamut from advertising to collateral materials to environmental graphics to packaging to social media. Branding is a versatile skill set that is relevant across fields and industries today, making it a worthwhile pairing with any major. The minor requires 18-20 credits.
